Application

  • Part Number: 230-2801
  • Application: Chevy/GM 6.6L Duramax Diesel
  • Description: Flywheel Bolt Kit (installs without washers)

Torque Specifications

  • Flywheel bolts: torque to 150 ft-lbs using the specified lubricants (see Step 4 below).
WARNING — Do not use any washers. ARP Flywheel Bolts are designed to be installed without washers. ARP will not be responsible for any failures resulting from using a washer with this kit.

Installation

  1. Check the part number(s) for your application against the part number(s) listed on the instruction sheet to confirm you have the correct kit.
  2. Do not use any washers with these ARP flywheel bolts — they are designed to be installed without them.
  3. Make sure there is an adequate chamfer around the bolt holes on the flywheel to clear the radius under the head of the bolt.
  4. Lubricate the threads of each bolt with Loctite 242 and the underside of the bolt head with ARP Ultra-Torque Fastener Assembly Lubricant. Then install the flywheel onto the crankshaft and tighten the bolts hand tight.
  5. Using an alternating (criss-cross) pattern, torque the bolts to 150 ft-lbs using the specified lubricants from Step 4.
NOTE: Always tighten flywheel bolts in an alternating, criss-cross sequence to seat the flywheel evenly against the crankshaft flange.
