The all new Monster-Ram® intake for the 6.7L Cummins in your Ram lives up to its name. It is an absolute MONSTER. We pulled out all the stops when developing it. Your Cummins engine struggles to breathe through its tiny, squashed stock inlet which causes boost loss at the same flow, while the Banks Monster-Ram® has a wide, unrestricted free-flowing path.
The Banks Monster-Ram is the ONLY 50-state emissions compliant intake manifold available for all RAM 6.7L Cummins 2500/3500 pickups. The system improves airflow from the intercooler. Killing stock and the competitors, it flows 72.7 lbs/min Mass Air Flow with Banks’ High-Flow Heater and Billet Intake Plate compared to stock's 38.6 lbs/min. That's an 88.3% increase! The proprietary design raises boost and decreases backpressure at the turbine. The result is better throttle response, improved fuel economy, and far more headroom than stock, especially in higher horsepower applications.
Over time, a bolt in the 2007-current stock RAM 6.7L Cummins grid heater deteriorates, falls into the intake runner, and makes its way into cylinder #6. In many cases, it results in total engine failure. Many mechanics either aren't aware of the problem or do not take the engine apart to properly diagnose it. "This is one of the most misdiagnosed Cummins engine issues," says Protech Diesel Center's Brad Hunt. "All too often, mechanics simply replace the engine. Therefore, the problem persists.
